Sri Ramayana Darshanam play to be staged by Rangayana in Mysuru

Mysuru, November 7:- “With Sri Ramayana Darshanam by Kuvempu completing 50 years, Rangayana is staging the play ‘Ramayana Darshanam’ on November 14,” said the director of Rangayana, Bhagirathi Bai Kadam at a press meet held at the premises of Rangayana here on Wednesday.

“The first presentation of the play will be staged on November 14 at Bhoomigeetha in association with Kannada and Culture Department. The play will be staged at 6 pm every day till November 18. The play will be staged on November 23 and 24 at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru. The 5-hour long play will throw light on the ideals of Kuvempu which are portrayed in Sri Ramayana Darshanam. It is completely prepared in Halegannada. Forty theatre experts selected from all over the state will be part of the play,” she added.

“Raghupathi Bhat of Ganjifa Art has prepared 12 arts on Ramayana Darshanam. Designer H K Dwarakanath has prepared Sri Ramayana Darshanam, a background work. These two arts will be inaugurated on November 13,” she added.

“Senior artistes of Rangayana, Jagadish Manevarthe and Krishna Kumar Narnakaje have brought it to theatrical form. Umesh Salian has co-directed the play. K G Mahabaleshwara has directed the play,” she informed.
